6-1-6

 

6-1-6 is a progression of the Kick on Side Drill.  Like Kick on Side, it helps you to establish good alignment and sets up your arm and hand at the start of the catch phase.  By introducing a single stroke every 6 kicks, this drill challenges swimmers to establish good posture and catch position on hand entry.  Take a breath straight after taking a stroke to mimic full freestyle.
